BBBS - Kent County Council 2024
Be Bright Be Seen with Kent County Council and the Kent Road Safety Team is back for 2024!
kmfm and Kent County Council are teaming up once again to launch the annual 'Be Bright Be Seen' campaign - a vital local initiative designed to help keep children safer on their journeys to and from school.
As the darker mornings and evenings settle in, we’re focused on ensuring your children are visible while encouraging drivers and riders to stay extra vigilant on Kent’s roads.
Those early school commutes and late afternoon returns are busy periods, and with the clocks going back very soon, it’s more important than ever for students to stay safe in low-light conditions.
The KCC Road Safety Team is dedicated to helping children not just to be seen - but to stand out. These reflective items aren’t just fun accessories; they allow children to be more visible to drivers and other road users.
Why is Visibility So Important?
Visibility is crucial for pedestrian safety, especially during the winter months when daylight is limited. Children walking or cycling to school in the early morning or late afternoon are less visible during darker conditions, particularly with many children wearing dark coloured uniforms and coats. Reflective items increase their visibility by reflecting light from car headlights, allowing children to be seen from greater distances
What’s Available This Year?
We’re excited to offer 25,000 free 'Be Bright Be Seen' reflective disks from kmfm and Kent County Council. These versatile reflective disks can be clipped onto bags, coats, and bikes to help children stand out in the dark. They are simple to use and can make a big difference when it comes to safety on Kent's roads.
Join the 'Be Bright Be Seen' campaign for free and let your children shine like the stars they are! Together, we can brighten up Kent’s streets and make sure everyone stays safer.
