It will be a real treat to hear these beautiful movements sung by Whitstable Choral Society and four soloists. They depict the suffering of Mary and the compassion of the composer using shades of tempo and composition, bringing a rich variation to the vocal score. The first and last movements frame the composition.
In the 21st century it continues to be Dvorak’s best known sacred work.
A lovely way to spend a Spring evening, at St Edmund’s School overlooking Canterbury and the cathedral.
Conductor: Spencer Payne, Musical Director, Whitstable Choral Society and Director of Music at St Edmund's School, Canterbury.
