Sky News launches new Sunday morning current affairs programme

Sky News has announced a new format for its flagship Sunday morning current affairs programme, with a rotating line-up of high-profile guest presenters taking the helm.

Sunday Morning With... launches this weekend and will feature a different host each week, starting with:

• 6 September - Jon Sopel, journalist, broadcaster and co-presenter of The News Agents
• 13 September - Rachel Johnson, broadcaster, author and LBC Presenter
• 20 September - Kamal Ahmed, broadcaster and executive editorial director for Europe at Fortune
• 27 September - Kate McCann, political journalist and Times Radio Breakfast presenter
• 4 October - Helen Lewis, journalist at The Atlantic, author and broadcaster

Further presenters for the run-up to Christmas will be announced in the coming weeks, bringing a range of voices and perspectives to the series.

Each week's presenter will complete the title of the programme, and bring their own expertise, interests and interviewing style to the show.

Politics and major interviews will remain an important part of the programme, with greater emphasis on discussion and debate alongside interviews and analysis of the week's biggest stories.

The conversation will extend beyond Westminster to the issues and ideas shaping life across the UK.

Sopel said: "It's an opportunity to have lively, intelligent conversations about the stories shaping the week and the issues people are talking about across the country."

Johnson said: "The best conversations are often the ones you have around the kitchen table - lively, sometimes surprising and not always in agreement."

Ahmed said: "I want to hear from interesting people, get beyond the usual talking points and have conversations that are open, curious and genuinely connected to what people are thinking and talking about."

McCann said: "I love the adrenaline of live TV and can't wait to dip my toe back in with the great guests and big names we've got planned."

Lewis said: "I want us to have conversations that are smart without being stuffy, where people can disagree, change their minds, laugh and occasionally say something they weren't planning to. That's when live television gets interesting."

The show will be live across Sky News, the app, website, social media and YouTube.
