£1,000 Friday – Specific Competition Rules

Anyone entering the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Specific Competition Rules and the kmfm General Competition Terms and Conditions.

If there is any conflict between these Specific Competition Rules and the kmfm General Competition Terms and Conditions, these Specific Competition Rules will apply.

1. How to enter

Entrants can enter using either of the following methods:

Paid text entry

Text FRIDAY, followed by your full name and postcode, to 60099.

Each text message costs £2.00 plus your standard network message rate.

Entrants must have permission from the mobile account holder before entering by text.

Free online entry

Entrants may alternatively enter online free of charge using the entry form published on the relevant competition page at kmfm.co.uk.

Online entries and paid text entries have an equal chance of winning. All valid entries will be included in the same random draw.

Only entries received during the relevant Competition entry period will be accepted.

Entries received before the Competition opens or after it closes will not be included in the draw. Text messages sent outside the entry period may still be charged.

Entrants are responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is complete and accurate. Incomplete, incorrect or otherwise invalid entries may be excluded.

2. Entry periods

3. Rush Hour

During the first hour of each Competition entry period, from 18:00 until 18:59:59 on the Thursday, a promotional entry offer called “Rush Hour” will apply.

For every valid paid text entry received by kmfm during Rush Hour, the Entrant will receive:

• one paid entry; and
• two additional entries at no extra charge.

This means that each valid £2.00 text message received during Rush Hour will generate three entries in total.

For example, two valid paid text messages received during Rush Hour will cost £4.00 plus the Entrant’s standard network message rates and will generate six entries in total.

There is no limit to the number of Rush Hour texts an eligible Entrant can send, subject to the overall entry limit set out in Section 7.

The time at which an entry is recorded as received by kmfm’s competition system will determine whether it qualifies for the Rush Hour offer.

A text message sent before 19:00 but received by kmfm at or after 19:00 will not qualify for the Rush Hour offer.

Network delays may occur. Entrants are therefore advised not to wait until the end of Rush Hour before entering.

The Rush Hour offer:

• applies to paid text entries only;
• does not apply to free online entries; and
• cannot be combined with another bonus offer on the same paid text message.

4. Standard second-text bonus

Outside Rush Hour, an Entrant’s first valid paid text message will generate one entry.

If the Entrant sends a second valid paid text message during the same Competition entry period, that second text will generate:

one paid entry; and
three additional entries at no extra charge.

This means that, after sending two valid paid text messages outside Rush Hour, the Entrant will have five entries in total:

• one entry from the first paid text;
• one entry from the second paid text; and
• three additional entries at no extra charge.

The second-text bonus is available once per Entrant, per Competition entry period.

Each paid text message costs £2.00 plus the Entrant’s standard network message rate.

Unless kmfm expressly advertises another promotional offer, subsequent paid text messages sent outside Rush Hour will generate one entry each.

A paid text message cannot receive both the Rush Hour offer and the standard second-text bonus. Where a text qualifies for Rush Hour, only the Rush Hour offer will be applied to that text.

5. Entry confirmation and technical issues

Text Entrants should receive an automated response confirming that their entry has been received.

Receipt of an automated response does not necessarily confirm that an Entrant is eligible to participate or that the entry complies with these Rules.

An Entrant who cannot send a message or does not receive an automated response should contact their mobile network provider.

Possible reasons for a text message not being sent or an automated response not being received include:

• insufficient account credit;
• a block on premium-rate services;
• a spending or usage cap;
• lack of network coverage;
• a delayed message; or
• another issue with the Entrant’s mobile network.

kmfm cannot accept responsibility for entries that are delayed, not received, corrupted, misdirected or otherwise affected by technical, equipment, network or service-provider problems.

6. Eligibility

Entrants must:

• be aged 16 or over at the time of entry;
• be resident in Kent;
• live within a BR, CT, DA, ME or TN postcode area;
• have access to a UK bank account held in their own name; and
• be available to answer a telephone call after the Competition closes.

kmfm may request proof of an Entrant’s age, identity, address, postcode, eligibility and bank-account ownership before awarding the prize.

If an Entrant cannot provide satisfactory evidence when requested, kmfm may disqualify the Entrant and select another entry at random.

7. Entry limits

A maximum of 30 paid text messages per person and per mobile telephone number may be submitted during each Competition entry period.

Free bonus entries awarded through Rush Hour or the standard second-text bonus will not count towards the limit of 30 paid text messages.

The free online entry route is limited to a maximum of 30 online entries per person during each Competition entry period.

Entrants must not attempt to circumvent an entry limit by using multiple names, identities, mobile telephone numbers, email addresses or other methods.

Where kmfm reasonably believes that an Entrant has attempted to avoid an entry limit, manipulate the entry process or gain an unfair advantage, kmfm may exclude all entries connected with that person.

kmfm advises against excessive use of premium-rate services. Entrants concerned about their spending should contact their mobile network provider to discuss applying a premium-rate spending restriction or block.

8. Winner selection

After the relevant Competition entry period closes, one valid entry will be selected at random from all eligible paid and free entries.

The selected Entrant will be called using the telephone number associated with their entry.

Online Entrants must provide a valid telephone number through which they can be contacted.

The selected Entrant must answer the telephone personally and be available to have a conversation with the on-air presenter.

If the selected Entrant:

• does not answer the telephone;
• rejects or disconnects the call;
• allows the call to go to voicemail or an answering service;
• cannot be heard or understood;
• is unavailable or unable to speak to the presenter;
• provides incorrect contact details;
• experiences a technical or network failure that prevents the conversation from continuing; or
• is found to be ineligible or in breach of these Rules,

kmfm may select another entry at random.

kmfm is not required to leave a voicemail, make a second attempt to contact the selected Entrant or call an alternative telephone number.

9. Recording and publicity

The winner-selection telephone call will be recorded.

The call may be broadcast on kmfm and may also be used on kmfm’s website, social-media channels and other promotional platforms.

By entering, Entrants acknowledge that, if selected, they may be required to participate in reasonable publicity connected with the Competition.

10. Prize

The prize is £1,000 cash.

The prize is non-transferable and no alternative prize will be offered.

The prize will be paid by BACS into a UK bank account held in the winner’s own name.

The winner must provide all information reasonably required by kmfm to verify their eligibility and arrange payment.

Payment may take up to 28 days from the date on which kmfm receives and verifies all required information.
