kmfm's Tonnes of Tins 2025 - Holding

Kent’s Biggest Food Collection is back!

Thank You for Supporting Tonnes of Tins 2025!

We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this year’s Tonnes of Tins campaign, whether you’ve donated in person or via our JustGiving page. Your generosity has been incredible.

Total donated via JustGiving: £11,696

Over the next few days, the kmfm team will be working closely with Tesco Park Farm to use every penny wisely, sourcing as much food as possible at the best value to make your donations stretch even further.

Then from Monday 11th August, we’ll begin delivering food to all of the incredible food banks listed below. These organisations support people and families in crisis every single day, and your help is making a direct difference.

-    Maidstone Celebrate
-    Dover Foodbank
-    East Malling Centre Community Support
-    Family Food Bank
-    Gravesham Foodbank
-    Pie Factory Music
-    The Salvation Army Ashford
-    Tunbridge Wells Nourish Foodbank

-    Repton Community Trust 'Peoples Pantry'
-    Canterbury and District Early Years Project

As we work to beat last year’s incredible total of 9.21 tonnes of food, we’ll be sharing updates, pictures, and videos along the way. Stay tuned to kmfm and our social channels as the deliveries roll out across Kent.Once again, thank you for being part of this. Your kindness is helping fight food poverty right here in our county.

More people across Kent are relying on food banks than ever before. Between April 2023 and March 2024, Trussell Trust food banks distributed over 3.1 million emergency food parcels in the UK, including 1.1 million for children, a 4% increase on the previous year.

That national trend is being felt hard here in Kent. In some areas, demand has more than doubled, Swale is up 230%, and Sevenoaks has seen a 130% rise. Deal Area Foodbank reports a 250% increase in need year-on-year, while donations have dropped by 28%, forcing them to spend £700 a month just to fill the gap.

The need is growing, but so is the support from our listeners, local businesses, and the community.

Together, we’re making a difference. And we can’t wait to show you the impact of your generosity.
